BARMAN:
As Barman you will be responsible to provide the highest level of hospitality when preparing and providing beverages at our venues.

As Barman you will be the first point of contact for our Guests and, therefore, you will be expected to lead the following tasks to the highest standards:
Perform all necessary tasks to service beverages according to the standard of performance manual of the hotel
Achieve total guest satisfaction and organizational profitability through effective utilization of all resources
Delight the guest by offering trend setting and innovative products and services and contribute to sales activities and assist in maximizing revenue
Set up the bar and prepare all mise-en-place for service
Clean the bar and all equipment to the required standards and maintain this cleanliness throughout service
Extend prompt services to all guests and treat guests and colleagues in a polite and courteous manner.
As Barman at our properties and to successfully fit this role, you will be expected to meet the following characteristics:
Diploma or degree in the hospitality field
Experience in luxury hotel operations and specifically in the Bar operations
Positive attitude and good communication skills
Ability to anticipate and resolve challenges / complaints
Commitment to delivering a high level of customer service
Excellent grooming standards
Flexibility to respond to a variety of different work situations
Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
Language requirements:
English – fluent.

The candidate will deal with every day tasks related to:
– serving breakfast: replenish the buffet, cleaning tables and interacting with
customers
– cleaning: washing plates and stuff from the breakfast
– interaction international guests
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate should:
– speak English fluently (other languages are a PLUS)
– be always smiling and welcoming: hospitality is our key value
– be flexible, it’s not the kind of job you start and you finish punctual

CHEF
Head Chef or Expert Sous Chef
Reporting to the General Manager , responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

Offer genuine sense of hospitality at each point of guest contact
Provide a warm, fun and approachable work environment while also maintaining a strong knowledge of menus, menu ingredients and guest preferences
Consistently offer a professional, friendly and engaging service
Follow standards of conduct, safety, and sanitation policies
Trains and educates employees on high standards and international culinary techniques
Monitors performance levels of all team members and acts accordingly
Timely completion of all one-on-one meetings and performance reviews
Active involvement with our apprenticeship program including demonstrations and follow up with students
Maintains departmental standards
Works closely with staff to ensure the high quality and consistency of food preparation and presentation
Ensures that the kitchen area is clean and the equipment is functional
Strive to advance his/her knowledge, skills and abilities and consistently share these with others
Promotes teamwork between the kitchen and all other departments
Responsible for the day to day maintenance of labour and food cost controls
Assists in the creation of weekly work schedule for their area.
Act as a role model to junior staff members by maintaining a professional work ethic and displaying exemplary cooking skills
Performs any and all other tasks which are assigned by management

Qualifications

Minimum of six months experience in all areas of a similar high end environment with a keen eye for the small details is essential
Experience in a 4 star international hotel and/or top caliber restaurant is required
Must be highly resourceful and innovative, detail oriented, quality conscious and must be aware of contemporary trends in presentation and cuisine preparation
Must be an effective leader, manager, trainer, developer and team player with strong communication and organizational skills
International experience and/or training is an asset
Wine knowledge and previous experience in food and wine pairing is an asset
BC Food Safe Certification is required

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

Constant standing and walking throughout shift
Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
