Urban Italian Group is looking for passionate and experienced Head Chefs ready to
lead our kitchens, drive culinary innovation, and create memorable dining experiences.
This role is for chefs who want real responsibility, influence, and the opportunity
to grow together with an ambitious and expanding group.
About Urban Italian Group
Urban Italian Group is the creative force behind the different concept Basta,
Florentine, Giorgio’s, Lola Maria, and soon also Villa Valentina .
Today, we operate 15 restaurants across Sweden and Spain and serve more than
3,000 guests every day.
Our organisation consists of over 500 culinary
professionals representing 50+ different nationalities, united by a shared
passion for hospitality, innovation, and great food.
Our Restaurant Concepts
Our portfolio includes several distinct restaurant concepts:
Basta is our casual dining brand, focused on delivering high-quality guest
experiences in beautifully designed environments with strong value for the guest.
The concept is suitable for the everyday experience, all from family’s
to date nights. Basta have today 10 established restaurants across
Sweden.
Florentine is an more upscale trattoria than Basta, offering refined relaxed
luxury experiences in glamorous settings inspired by 70’s italy.
Today Florentine is established in Stockholm, Marbella and soon also in Madrid.
Trattoria Giorgio’s is a new multi-unit Italian concept launched in late
2025, this is our local neighborhood version of an Italian restaurant.
The single unit is today located in Östermalm, Stockholm.
Lola Maria, is our first Spanish concept, and is our love letter to the
Andalusia region.
The concept is focusing on social dining with tapas, quality wines and creative cocktails.
In May 2026, we will also open our new concept Villa Valentina in Slussen,
Stockholm.
This will be a modern Spanish farmhouse restaurant inspired
by Mediterranean warmth and community around food.
The location is seen as the best restaurant spot in Sweden, and is our biggest
establishment in Stockholm so far.
Growth & Expansion
We are in an exciting phase of growth. Basta is expanding towards 18
locations in Sweden by 2030, while Florentine continues its international
journey with openings in Madrid, Berlin and Oslo.
Apart from this we expanding the UIG portfolio with more unique concept

About You & The Role
As a Head Chef at Urban Italian Group, you will take full ownership of
kitchen performance across all services.
You are expected to lead by
example, setting clear standards for quality, behaviour, and
professionalism, while creating a stable, structured, and accountable
kitchen culture.
You have strong experience working with à la carte menus
and a genuine passion for cooking, particularly Italian cuisine.
You enjoy working with high-quality ingredients and creating dishes from scratch, and
you thrive in fast-paced environments where high standards are the norm.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you are responsible for ensuring that all food meets company
standards for taste, presentation, and consistency, and that recipes,
portioning, and execution are followed and continuously developed where
needed.
You will recruit, onboard, train, and develop your back-of-house
team, with a strong focus on building capable Sous Chefs and CDPs
through coaching, feedback, and clear expectations.
You are comfortable addressing performance issues directly and professionally and work
proactively to create structures that reduce dependency on individuals.
You will also be responsible for planning and controlling food costs, staffing
costs, and kitchen-related expenses.
This includes staffing and preparation planning, supplier and stock management,
and ensuring that equipment is well maintained and operational.
You are expected to work systematically, ensuring that all kitchen routines, systems, and procedures function
effectively and comply with hygiene, safety, and legal requirements, including training, documentation,
and, where applicable, third-party delivery operations.
Clear communication and alignment are essential.
You will work closely with the General Manager, FOH, and leadership team to align priorities,
communicate expectations clearly, and ensure smooth collaboration across departments.
You represent the kitchen calmly and professionally at all times.
