About Una Pizzeria e Bar: Una Pizzeria e Bar is a laid back and popular restaurant and pizzeria in the city Trondheim in Norway (www.trondelag.com/en).
The main focus of the restaurant is to have the perfect Italian pizza, and multiple delights such as pasta, meat and fish dishes. Our concept is plain and tasty dishes in grounded surroundings.
You can expect a wide rage of guest; whereas the biggest costumer group is in the age rage 30-40 years old.
Still, you can find a group of young girls next to a table with a business conversation, or an 80 year old birthday. §
The guest who comes to Una expects food made by Italian ingredients, served in a rustic way. The ambience in the restaurant is energetic and positive and the interior is rough and urban (www.unapizzeria.no ).
The ambiance is spread both from our chefs in the open kitchen, our smiling waiters and the enthusiastic guests.
We serve lunch and dinner and the kitchen is open everyday from 11 am till 11 pm, Sundays from 12 pm till 10 pm.
About the kitchen and restaurant:
Our restaurant rooms 180 guests inside and is almost fully booked every day. During summer season, we also seat guest outside, and here we can host 130 guests.
In the kitchen, the chefs have each their partie: one for the starter section, one pasta, one grill, and two pizzaioli.
During the busy days we might also need a kitchen helper, preparing mice-en-place or helping where it is needed.
This autumn we are opening a second Una Pizzeria, also located in Trondheim center.
The kitchen is staffed in total with 12-15 chefs, depending on high or low season. 90% of the kitchen staff are Italians and work here on a full-time basis. In total, the restaurant staff about 45 persons.
Information about the position:
We are looking for one full time permanent position as Head Chef of the kitchen in both locations. Una Pizzeria Solsiden and our new opening in September/October; Una Pizzeria Torget.
You will be responsible for quality control, production and recipes of the restaurant, the kitchen staff and following Una Pizzeria e Bar’s concept. The nature of the work will be a combination of daytime and evening/week ends. And a combination of working in service (cooking line) and administrative and leading.
Our head chef must enjoy cooking, be a positive person and be a fair and structured leader.
We also value «leading by example» and presence from our leaders are important.
General tasks of the head chef for Una Pizzeria Solsiden and Torget.
• preparing food from the a la carte menu
• following the HACCP-system requirements
• employees and staff meetings
• training of new staff
• follow-up conversations with staff
• monthly schedule
• order of goods and food
• storage control and inventory
• help to keep our food concept and develop the menu
• assure a good collaboration with general manger, floor manager and owners
• assure a good collaboration between the pizzeria and kitchen
Requirements: The applicant must have a chef certificate and well-documented relevant experience with leadership. You should also attach relevant references to your CV and application.
You must also be service minded, structured and tidy. In the kitchen, you can count on hectic days and should enjoy high speed.
You should be a positive person and not be afraid to smile.
Our restaurant has a flat hierarchy and you should enjoy motivating the kitchen staff to not only do their best at work, but also be good co-workers and lead by example.
You should be a people-person that care about your staff.
Required language skill is English. You must both feel confident in talking in English and comprehend English documents.
Wages: NOK 38 000 – 42 000 NOK gross pr. Month (~3800-4300 EURO), depending on experience and qualifications.
Tax will be deducted, approx 28%.
Housing: The employer will assist in finding housing.

Other information: The restaurants are located in the centre of Trondheim with short walking distance to all facilities.
