Executive chef job in Amsterdam
Our mission is to be the best loved Boutique Hotel & Restaurant Company so regardless of position, we look for individuals who are passionate about providing genuine heartfelt care to our guests and employees.

For the Kimpton De Witt Hotel we are looking for an Executive Chef to join our Kitchen team!

Nestled in the heart of Amsterdam’s thriving City Centre, our hotel inspires our guests to imagine, explore, create and find a comfortable place to relax. They can unwind in our leafy garden conservatory, savour a meal at our local restaurant, cradle a nightcap in our cosy House Bar, which dates back to the Dutch Renaissance. With our unique personality and heartfelt service (without the attitude), we consider our intimate boutique hotel as our guests’personal sanctuary.

American Comfort Food with a Dutch Influence

Conveniently located in Amsterdam City Centre, Wyers presents classic American cuisine interpreted through a European lens. By fostering relationships with Dutch farmers and purveyors, our Kitchen infuses Amsterdam flavor into every dish. Highlights from the menu include lollipop chicken wings and a simply delicious burger. Paired with a local craft beer, wine or classic cocktail, it’s a recipe for fun and relaxed satisfaction.

Strong Pours, Warm Vibes

At House Bar, we believe that cocktails should facilitate experiences. Sure, we’re passionate about researching classic recipes, discovering new spirits and using the finest local ingredients. But a well-executed drink is but a means to an end: making connections, fostering conversation, having a good time. Our bartenders are experts at creating the right drink to match your mood, and House Bar’s modern ambience exudes Dutch hospitality. Housed in a 1645 family home, House Bar’s cheeky drink list is complemented by a well thought out menu of shareable, cocktail-friendly bites.

Amsterdam Grab and Go

When in Amsterdam, start your day the Miss Louisa way: with a hot delicious cup of strong coffee. Miss Louisa Coffee is integrated in Kimpton De Witt’s Living Room, so it’s easy for our guests and neighbors to grab a little something on their way out to see the sights. The beans we use in our espresso drinks are roasted and blended locally just for us and the pastries made by our own pastry team.

You’re passionate, focused and driven about making every guest’s experience ‘ridiculously personal’, making their visit unforgettable, in all the right ways.
You can succeed in a fast-paced, guest-focused, no two days the same environment, and we will offer you plenty of opportunities to find your niche and grow. It’s your creativity and flair that we like and we know you are going to make our business a real success.

You’ll be working with a friendly, motivated team who you will recruit and lead with your distinctive style and work with them to develop their full potential and ensure everyone provides genuine heartfelt care to our guests. You will also work alongside our Food & Beverage Director and its team, and we know that between you all we will really make a name for ourselves.

You also need to know your local area, what’s everyone else offering? Who’s eating and drinking what, and where?

As everything in the Kitchen is your responsibility, you need to ensure it’s all in working order by protecting and enhancing the value of all our assets through appropriate programs in maintenance. We have a capital budgeting process to help you with this.

You will work with the Finance team to ensure all financial processes are secure and accurate. You need to work with them to review the forecasting and operational planning of the payroll and expenditure, as you need to deliver in line with your forecasting and budgets.

You need to understand where all the money comes from and where it is spent. That means an understanding of all your sales, who likes what and who’s coming in and when, so you can maximise on your profit by devising the right menus at the right time.

You need to continually review what’s working and what’s not working and drive improvements and make changes as and when they are needed.

You are the ‘king of food’ and need to be known and seen within the local industries to promote the hotel, restaurant and bars and drive business.

Just remember, your career isn’t restricted with us. We don’t expect you to stay in Amsterdam forever. It might start in Amsterdam but could take you anywhere in the world.

You are in a role that means variety, choice and potential. A whole world of openings, a world of opportunities and the journey starts here with the Kimpton family.

A focused individual with passion, personality, individuality, integrity, creativity and drive for continuous improvement. Sound familiar?
