We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced server to join us in beautiful New Zealand!
The Esplanade is at the heart of the stunning St Clair beach, in Dunedin City, New Zealand. We serve delicious, authentic, Italian food made with highest quality ingredients paired with a local and Italian-inspired drinks list. At the Esplanade, we are inspired by the classic flavours of Italy and the relaxed vibe of the Kiwi beach. About the role
We are looking for someone who understands restaurants who will be able to be trained to lead and manage shifts. The Front of House team assist in ensuring exceptional customer experience and smooth running of service. Reporting to the restaurant manager, you will be responsible for running your own section in the restaurant, from assisting with the setup, through to delivering exceptional service and packing down at the end of service. We will train you to be one of our shift maître Ds, who greet our guests, manage our waitlists, manage front of house staff and coordinate the shift. This is a busy and varied role, with opportunity to learn and grow your hospitality career while becoming part of a committed, skilled and collaborate team.
What you’ll need to offer
· Have experience supervising in a busy restaurant · Have excellent communication skills · Have a good knowledge of Italian food and wine · Confident with excellent customer service skills · Enjoys working to high standards and working under pressure · Is able engage with customers and respond to their needs · Ability to work well as part of a team

At The Esplanade we offer comprehensive training and induction, to ensure that you understand the way we do things. This will include our menus and drinks as well as understanding the culture of the restaurant and our customers. We will support you while you become accustomed to life by the beach in our beautiful city.
